Well, today is another Mr. Gatti's "field trip" so we're praying for a fun game-filled day for Cayla.
Yesterday's swimming field trip didn't go so well, so we are definitely hoping for smoother sailing. Yesterday a Sr. Camper offered to help her play in the deep end without her life jacket. The paperwork and permission slip I signed says she can only be without a life jacket in the shallow end. Never the less Cayla jumps in (leaving the Sr. camper behind) and panics. The life guard sees her struggling and asks if she needs help. When Cayla says yes, the life guard jumps in to save her.
While this was worrisome to me, it was very embarrassing for her. She's hoping that something new and exciting will happen today (to someone else) because yesterday afternoon she said she was asked a million times "Are you the girl who was drowning?" She definitely did not like all of that attention.
She really does LIKE kids camp (despite what one might think based on these stories). The camp seems to have been full of life-lessons learned. Some have been quite stressful (that's probably why they don't advertise that in their brochure). ;)

This was a Sr. CAMPER - basically just like the kid that stole her Gatti card (just a different girl). She really does like the camp, but she's just learning to be a little less trusting (which is a good thing).
On another note she was able to retrieve her personal life-jacket from the pool's lost and found yesterday. I was sure that it was gone forever, so she'd been just using the pool furnished ones. I'm happy to have that thing back - she needs it!!!
