Great Neighbors, Great Friends

On our last street we had really good neighbors. Cayla was very nervous about leaving her friend Caleb, and very scared that she wouldn't have any friends on our new street. Her worries have been put to rest, because she's made not one great friend but two. Emily and Hailey are sisters who live across the street and moved in about a week before us. Emily is 5 and will start kindergarten in the fall at the same school as Cayla, and Hailey is 4. (they are 11 mos. apart - both born in 2003) These girls are perfect friends for Cayla. They are both super girly - just like Cayla, they both love to wear skirts and dresses - just like Cayla, and the three of them already wear each others flip flops daily and have begun to wear each others clothes as well. They are so cute together. They play together almost every day until dark. Every time we drive home we have to look to see if Em and Hailey are sitting on the bench outside their house. Many times they are. If they aren't Cayla likes to hang out in our garage in hopes that they see her and come outside. In hopes of not being overbearing neighbors, I don't really let her go knock on the door and ask them to play, but thus far their own system has worked fine. They've played together almost every day.

Good for her! I'm glad she made new friends. :) So get ready, Tracy, because one day they'll be sewing under the bed and shaving their legs without permission!!! --K
