Redemption

How do you redeem yourself after you tell your lunch packing, turkey sandwich eating, 7 year old that's its cafeteria "pizza day", only to learn that you misread the menu and it's in fact cheeseburger day?  Where can you run when she's furious with you and possibly even calls you a bad mother?  What do you say when she tells you she's been starving with a growling stomach all day because she only had a very small ice cream, three little pickles, and milk for lunch?

You make her a turkey sandwich and take her to the carnival.

How do you keep protect two youngsters from the creepy carnies?

You bring in reinforcements.

It worked like a charm, washed away the hunger pains, and took me off the naughty list.
Cayla had a fabulous time (with the exception of being turned away from the swing ride).  She rode the swings when she was 5, but they've either increased the height requirements or just started enforcing them. This was her favorite ride of the night.

Tate wasn't great, but loved the trucks and boats.  On some rides he cried while he was on them, others he just cried because he didn't want to get off.   The boats where are huge hit, but when we caught him sticking his hand out and licking the carney water off his fingers it was DEFINITELY TIME TO GO HOME.  Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.
