Happy Birthday Papa Gene

This weekend we packed up the kids and headed East.  Far East - to Texarkana for Papa Gene's 60th Birthday.  The car ride was better than expected despite the fact that Tate did not sleep a wink.  Sleep proved to be very low priority for the boy (all weekend long) considering he didn't sleep much at night either .    :(   Chris and I were able to fuel ourselves with caffeinated beverages and it was a good weekend.
Making Piglets - Tate sat up near the island and was ready to help, but  then didn't have the patience so he just ate cold smokies instead.

Cayla did have the patience, and she and Nana made all of the piglets.

Tate believing that if he covered his eyes Papa Gene wouldn't notice that he was kicking the cabinet - AGAIN.

Tate camping out next to the "Candy Barn".  Nana stocked it with Hershey Kisses, Reeses, and Nerds and Tate was sad that it was just out of his reach.

Noise Makers - AHHH!!!

No pictures of Tate with the grandparents - he spent his time on the run!

Then he crashed - this is one of the very few times he slept all weekend!  I gladly would have traded his little nap for some sleep at 4 a.m.

Cayla was lucky enough to get all of these balloons to TAKE HOME!  Too bad we "forgot" them at Nana and Papa Gene's.

Feeding the Fish - Tate managed to stay out of the pond (with the exception of one foot).  Not too bad!
